FasterFox - Surfing faster on the web

With FasterFox installed, the waiting time for the loading of a page will be reduced, so, you will load the pages faster than ever. Furthermore, you will see in a timer how many milliseconds it took to load the page. The main characteristics of this plugin are:
  • Prefetch Links
Dynamic speed increases can be obtained with Fasterfox's unique prefetching mechanism, which recycles idle bandwidth by silently loading and caching all of the links on the page you are browsing.
  • Tweak Network
Fasterfox allows you to tweak many network and rendering settings such as simultaneous connections, pipelining, cache, DNS cache, and initial paint delay.
  • Page Load Timer
A millisecond accurate page load timer tests the effectiveness of your settings.
  • Block Popups
A popup blocker for popups initiated by Flash plug-ins is also included.
  • Locales included for Chinese, Czech, Dutch, English, Finnish, French, German, Hebrew, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Slovak, Slovenian, and Turkish.

Cool Skins in few Clicks

As always... simple and effective.

Don't like the look of firefox ? Or simply tired of that boring skin that you always see while traveling throughout the internet ?

Now it's easy dealing with this. Remember what it takes to simply put a good looking windows skin ? Plugins, skin files, install programs, registry, blah blah blah, not with firefox! Firefox won't put your windows desktop looking better, but it will make your journeys in the world wide net quite more pleasant to watch.

Ok, no more suspense, what I'm trying to say is that firefox has a theme manager that easily installs skins that you download. It's easy! Try it! It will only take few minutes of your time, and believe me, it's worth it! Just go to the oficial theme download site ( ), choose the one you like the most, firefox will automatically install it, then close all firefox windows and restart the browser. Voilà, Your eyes can now rest because the internet surfing is no longer painful for they're taste!

Pleasant surfing!

Plugin for the weather

Today i'm going to talk about a plugin which is very useful, and it name is ForecastFox.

ForecastFox displays on your Firefox's statusbar the previsions for the weather of your city, or for the city that you had chosen.

But you got more: it displays the weather for the current day, for the next day and for the day after, so, it shows the previsions for 3 days.

You can choose too what you want to see: a radar that when you pass the cursor over it, it displays a satellite image of your area; the temperature for today and for the next days, the moon, a little description of the weather, and other features. You can see all the features together, but it might be a little bit confusing.

Try it! You can download this plugin here. Here is the webpage.

Have fun!

Firefox & Google: Perfect Combination

Today i'm going to write about two plugins that will make your life easier.
The first one is the Google Toolbar. It has some interesting features, such as showing the rank of page page which you are in (you can know the page rank of your website), spell check (a good tool to who writes texts in blogs or foruns) and you get warnings about web pages that may be unsafe.
The download could be done on this blog.

Adsense Notifier did you ever heard about it? Basically, it
displays your Adsense earnings on the statusbar, which saves you a LOT of time. From now then, you don't need to check you Adsense account every 5 minutes.
To download it, follow this link: Adsense Notifier
After downloading it, go to Tools, Extensions, Adsense Notifier, Options, and down on the page, unselect the boxes Impressions, CTR, CPM, RPC. Leave Clicks and Earnings selected. Now you will have a cleaner view of your today's earnings!

Firefox, the future leader

Firefox will be the leader on browsers. I use it since it was launched, and i never, never will use Internet Explorer again. And why? Because Internet explorer has a lot of vulnerabilities, which is dangerous for you and for your own safety.
Microsoft was too greedy when they launch Internet Explorer, because they implemented xhtml and activeX controls, without defining a proper security strategy. With this, they created exploits, which could be explored, by malicious spyware.

Now i'm going to show you 14 good reasons to use firefox:

1. Security

Because many of those malicious plug-in’s that cause your everyday web surfing into a trip to the DMV are mostly programmed for Internet Explorer, having Mozilla Firefox as your internet browser can save you tons of headaches.

2. Cleaner Interface

Firefox isn’t filled with clutter such as a history button or other buttons that take up most of the area in Internet Explorer. Firefox offers 2% more space to web pages than Mozilla, 4% more than Internet Explorer, and a whopping 10% more than Opera.

3. Popup Blocking

Did you know that many spywares, virus, trojans, worms are included in those annoying popups that appears in a lot sites? With this feature, firefox save you from stress and malware.

4. Download Manager

A feature which I thought was going to be integrated in Internet Explorer 6 was a download manager. Download managers allow you to manipulate and take control of your downloaded files. Mozilla Firefox’s download manager contains just the essentials to allow you to control your downloads. You can pause your download and continue it a later time, something which is not possible with IE’s download manager.

5. Tab Browsing

This feature will make your life easier! Because having too many windows open at a time can be a bit annoying, not to mention time consuming, Firefox features tab browsing, which allows you organize your time and space. To open a new tab, just press "Control" + "T".

6. Integrated Search Engine

Do you want save some time with your searches? On the right top of Firefox, there is an search engine, that uses Google, the best search engine around!

7. Options

Less confusing and cluttered than IE’s Internet Options is another factor in Mozilla’s Firefox. You can easily navigate through each setting. Deleting saved passwords is a snap and clearing any saved history. The “Downloads” section of the options allows the user to choose which program will automatically open a downloaded file.

8. Page Info

When right clicking on a page (PC users), selecting “page info” will pull up a window displaying vast amount of information for the webpage. General information as well as a Link tab showing all the links that the page contains.

9. Faster Response

A typical webpage will load faster on Mozilla Firefox than Internet Explorer, and you have the chance to install plugins which will reduce the waiting time!

10. Keeps HTML Formatting

Mozilla Firefox is able to keep the html format when copying from a webpage to a text file. For example, when copying html formatted text from a webpage and pasting it on a note pad, the text copied using Mozilla Firefox keeps the format yet the text copied from IE doesn’t.

11. Open Source Advantage

Are you a programmer or do you like to programme? Well, we've got good news for you! The Mozilla project is an Open Source project where thousands of independent programmers can work on finding security holes before they are exploited.

12. Smaller Downloads

Ignoring the fact that Internet Explorer comes integrated with Windows, Firefox is almost half the size of Internet Explorer meaning half the time downloading.

13. Block Images

When right clicking on an image, the user is given the option to block all images from that webpage. This feature comes in handing when visiting a site that holds many pictures, many due to ads, which can be disabled for faster surfing.

14. Automated Plugin Instalation

Have you ever tried to watch a flash movie or animation, but you notice you're missing the flash plugin, and you lack the patience to go to the flash webpage and download/install that dam plugin? Then you're not using Firefox. Firefox puts it quite a lot simpler, instead of heading to the plugins webpage, firefox automatically detects that missing plugin, prompts you to dowload and install it, and with a nice good looking wizard it does the job in just a short period of time. Good news for the lazy ones!
